Become a Missionary

Local Volunteers

If you live in the El Paso/Juarez area, there are many ways you can volunteer each week.  There are important tasks that need to be completed in our El Paso office and campus Monday through Friday.  Also, volunteers help assemble food baskets on Fridays year-round.  In the late summer, volunteers are needed to help assemble school supply kits and hygiene kits for “back to school” distributions.  In November and early December we need help preparing a number of items for distribution between Christmas and Epiphany.  In addition to these opportunities there are many ways to volunteer at YLM throughout the year.

Please contact our program director, Elvira Viramontes, at (915) 858-2588 or contact us online to see what current needs exist.

RV Options – While passing through El Paso or spending winter months away from snow, volunteers traveling in RVs can utilize our 4 RV pads while volunteering at YLM.  Connections for water, electric, and sewer are available.

Summer Internships – YLM also provides volunteer internships for college-aged men and women during the hectic months of June, July, and August. They help facilitate servant event groups in their arrivals, orientation, community life, service projects, and departures.  The application process for short-term volunteers whose duties will involve interaction with children/youth or entry into detention center facilities will include a mandatory background check. Applications are due by the end of January and will be reviewed in early spring.
