CrossPoint Food Pantry

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
~1 Thessalonians 5:11~

Vicar Michael Schuetzler and a team of eleven members from CrossPoint Church located in East El Paso, spent a Saturday morning reaching out to the Lower Valley community through adopting the Food Pantry at Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care (YLM).

“We’re here to support, encourage, and lift up those who are seeking to serve others,” Rev Dr. Karl Heimer, CEO of YLM and pastor at San Pablo Lutheran Church in the Lower Valley of El Paso, shared in regards to the new direction being taken with the Food Pantry, “It’s not about what YLM is doing, but about what others are able to do through YLM.”

From donors and volunteers, many are changing the lives of hundreds of people in so many different ways, big and small, through YLM.  The most important way they change lives is through the sharing of God’s love without pressure or expectation.  For hundreds of families, they experienced God’s love through the kindness, compassion, and joy given by these wonderful servant-leaders from CrossPoint.

“Our church was blessed by the experience,” Vicar Schuetzler shared in an email afterwards, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to serve others in God’s love.  As churches and service-minded groups adopt the Food Pantry, they will encounter experiences and amazing opportunities to reach out to a community in need, giving them hope and kindness along with plentiful food.
