Food Warehouse Shines!
Volunteers and Servant Events Have Been Hard at Work
Our food warehouse is looking great, deeply cleaned! thanks to local volunteers from San Pablo Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church, El Paso, in February and the servant event team from Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Ham Lake, MN, in March. Floors and surfaces were scrubbed, pallets were arranged for easy and safe access while preparing food baskets. Small details, including keeping pallets from touching the walls, make a big difference in ensuring food remains safe for the public once received by YLM.
Thousands of Families Receive Emergency Food from YLM
Last year, 50 food distributions were held and numerous semi-loads of donations from Orphan Grain Train were received. Also, weekly truckloads of food from the West Texas Food Bank made it possible for YLM volunteers to provide food to 13,085 families (58,693 individuals) last year. Additionally, food was distributed in bulk to orphanages and other non-profit agencies serving people in need throughout our region.
