In March, our music ensemble Mariachi San Pablo made the 12+ hour drive from our Texas border region to another Texas border region, far far south to share the Gospel and participate in the ministries of churches in the Rio Grande Valley. In five days, they performed four concerts, shared music in four worship services, performed at a restaurant, and also performed at a Juvenile Detention Center. (view the itinerary)
After one of the performances, we’ve been told that someone present said to a host, “Honestly, I don’t ever go to church…but hearing them all sing just now and the words they said…it just filled me with so much peace! I decided I’m gonna go to church this Sunday!”
YLM began Mariachi San Pablo in 2001 as part of its Adelante Ministries outreach to youth in the Ysleta Community of El Paso, TX. The ensemble performs locally year round and has traveled extensively throughout the United States.
