El Paso is a vibrant area with lots for visitors to take in during weekend and evening free time, and there are several nearby attractions that are easily do-able as daytrips as well. Most groups that work in Juarez also like to spend an afternoon shopping at the Mercado Juarez. For those working in El Paso, we have an arrangement with one of the market vendors who is willing to bring a truckload of his wares to the mission. The servant event staff would be happy to accompany you or provide you with directions. We also have a “What’s on the Menu?” bulletin board so you can peruse some of our recommended dining selections!
- Scenic Drive (overlooking the lights of El Paso/Juarez)
- swimming at Pavo Real pool
- El Paso Diablos baseball games
- dinner out at one of El Paso’s many restaurants
- Chamizal National Memorial
- El Paso Zoo
- VIVA! El Paso (musical drama depicting El Paso’s history)
- White Sands National Monument (1 hr., 45 min away)
- Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site (45 min. away)
- Carlsbad Caverns (3 hrs. away)
- Old Mesilla, NM (1 hr. away)
We think framing and roofing are pretty fun too, but that’s just us
