Occasionally, God places a call upon someone’s heart to join the mission staff for a period of several years. These individuals usually wear many hats, although specific positions sought are Accountant, Construction Assistant, DCE, Development Assistant, Music Ministry Assistant, Servant Event Coordinator (starting January 2012), and Volunteer Coordinator. There are many paths to follow when considering an extended stay at YLM, one of which is to serve as a GEO (Globally Engaged in Outreach) Missionary with LCMS World Mission. The application process for short-term volunteers whose duties will involve interaction with children/youth or entry into detention center facilities will include a mandatory background check.
