Cristo Rey is in Juarez near downtown. The Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute has provided good training and education materials. Also YLM employs Pastor Martinez, Pastor Lozano, and Rosy Lira who serve there and at the Sin Paredes mission. A couple years ago a servant event held a VBS that drew 90 children and Rosy was able to continue teaching them and training up other Sunday School teachers to help them. Those children and more have continued to come ever since. Other Servant Events have continued to help with VBS programs, medical clinics, house construction, and church building improvements. It has also been a blessing to help people with food, school supplies, Christmas gifts, and clothes. The mariachi has visited to lead Christmas pods as well. All in all, God h as been working on this and reaching out for a long time. Many thanks go out for Rosy who has been especially instrumental in the membership classes that opened up scripture and doctrine to the people. Rosy has completed her course work at the missionary institute and in another half year will complete the "hands on" work required for her Certificate of Theology. She is considering continuing on toward deaconess certification through Concordia Seminary's Center for Hispanic Studies. All of the is a testament to how God uses all his people according to their different gifts to reach those who sod not yet know His love and Grace.
